Tu Lan Cave Expedition
Swim into one mountain, walk out of another, and sleep beside the river that carved the Tu Lan system.
A two-to-three-day cave expedition through underground rivers, jungle camps, and the limestone systems behind Phong Nha.

Tu Lan is not a single cave visit. It is a moving expedition through Tan Hoa valley, jungle footpaths, underground rivers, swim-through entrances, dry chambers, and riverside camps. The route is physical but not technical: guests need to be comfortable swimming, walking wet trails, and following cave-team instructions in dark, fragile environments. The reward is a rare sense of real movement through limestone country — not watching the cave from a boardwalk, but crossing the system with respect.
What it actually looks like.
Real frames from inside the Tu Lan system — the swim-throughs, the jungle camps, the cathedral chambers no photo truly prepares you for.

The conditions you'll meet.
Honest filters. No fluff.
Comfortable swimmer. No technical caving required, but guests must listen carefully to the cave team and move calmly in darkness, water, and uneven terrain.
Moderate to strong. Expect full active days, humid jungle walking, wet shoes, river crossings, swim entries, and a small daypack.
Adventurous but disciplined. You need to be okay being wet, muddy, dark, and quiet when the cave requires it.

Duong coordinates cave expeditions around safety, water levels, and guest confidence, keeping the pace controlled so the cave system feels wild without becoming careless.
"Tu Lan is powerful because you move with the water, not against it. The cave sets the rhythm."
Numbers that matter.
Maximum 8 guests so swim entries, cave spacing, camp logistics, and safety checks stay controlled.
Final route depends on cave-operator conditions, river levels, weather, guest swimming comfort, and conservation access rules.
The itinerary uses real Tu Lan system locations around Phong Nha and Tan Hoa: Hang Ton, Hang Kim, Hang Tu Lan, Hang Ken, jungle valleys, and riverside camps.
