Hoang Su Phi Trek · Reference Guide
Hoang Su Phi Trek is a private multi-day trekking expedition through working rice terraces, mountain villages and highland paths in Hoang Su Phi district. The default 4D3N itinerary is on this page below; this guide covers duration options, intensity choices, guide and accommodation models, transport, luggage, season logic, and how the product fits the northern line-up.
Private departure and custom quote
Custom quote only — no fixed or from price. Final quote depends on duration, guide, accommodation tier, transport option, group arrangement, and season. Solo travelers and private groups may inquire. Route sequence and inclusions are confirmed in a written proposal before deposit.
Duration options on one page
3D2N — shorter / lighter Hoang Su Phi option at easy–moderate intensity. Day 1: arrival and short introductory terrace walk; Day 2: main full trekking day; Day 3: morning walk and transfer onward. Nam Hong may appear as a comfort-oriented routing option when appropriate — not standard.
4D3N (default flagship) — moderate difficulty through Ban Phung, Ban Luoc, Ho Thau, Chieu Lau Thi module, Nam Khoa and Thong Nguyen. Vehicle transfers may connect valleys when useful. The daily sequence below is the operational framework — not a rigid script every departure must follow.
5D4N — deeper option for moderate–challenging walkers with wider Ban Phung / Ban Luoc days and a lower Chieu Lau Thi approach before the summit attempt.
5D4N approximate day framework
All distances and times are approximate and route dependent — confirmed in the written proposal, not a rigid daily script.
Day 1 — Ban Phung: approx. 4–7 km · approx. 2–3 hours.
Day 2 — wider Ban Phung: approx. 16–22 km · approx. 6–8 hours.
Day 3 — Ban Luoc: approx. 15–20 km · approx. 6–7 hours.
Day 4 — lower Chieu Lau Thi approach: approx. 13–18 km · approx. 6–8 hours.
Day 5 — Chieu Lau Thi summit attempt + descent: approx. 10–15 km · approx. 4–6 hours.
Intensity choices
Relaxed — shorter walking days, more time in one valley, approx. 4–8 km over approx. 2–4 hours on walking days. Moderate — default 4D3N style with full trekking days, approx. 12–18 km over approx. 5–7 hours on main days. Strong trekker — 5D4N progression with hardest days up to approx. 22 km over approx. 6–8 hours. All ranges are approximate and route dependent.
Chieu Lau Thi summit attempt
Day 3 on the default route is a summit attempt toward approx. 2,402 m — weather dependent, visibility dependent and trail-safety dependent. Local mountain specialist support may join when operationally appropriate. Never expect a guaranteed summit, sunrise or cloud sea.
Guide model
Default: experienced English-speaking trekking guide. Local mountain / village specialist may support the route when useful. Chieu Lau Thi may use English-speaking guide plus local mountain specialist. A local Vietnamese-speaking guide with translation support may be available by request — not the default international product experience.
Accommodation
Standard: locally operated mountain bungalow or lodge with private room where available. Value option: community house or dormitory with shared facilities. Exact property confirmed in the written proposal. Some remote mountain areas have simpler facilities than conventional hotels.
Transport options
Option A — full private transport: private vehicle and driver for Hanoi ↔ Hoang Su Phi, local trailhead / inter-area transfers, and onward transport according to proposal. Option B — sleeper / limousine + local transfers: shared sleeper or limousine to the Hoang Su Phi gateway with private local transfers between trekking areas. Tan Quang may appear as a possible gateway — carrier and exact duration confirmed in proposal.
Luggage and meals
Guests carry a small daypack while trekking. Main luggage may move by vehicle between accessible stage points where the route allows — porter service is not standard unless separately arranged. Meals during the trekking program are included as listed in the written proposal; drinking water is included on trekking days.
Best season
September–October often suits harvest-interest periods; spring can bring young rice and greener landscapes depending on local agricultural timing. Terrace colour varies by valley, elevation, farming calendar and weather. Planning context: best time to visit Hoang Su Phi.
