Hoang Su Phi & Ha Giang Trekking · Reference Guide
This nine-day expedition links Hoang Su Phi terrace and village walking with selected Ha Giang plateau modules. The day-by-day framework is on this page below; this guide covers movement type, difficulty, guide and accommodation models, transport, luggage, season logic, and how the product fits the northern line-up.
Private departure and custom quote
Custom quote only — no fixed or from price. Final quote depends on guide team, accommodation, transport, group arrangement, season and route conditions. Solo travelers and private groups may inquire. Route sequence and inclusions are confirmed in a written proposal before deposit.
Trekking-led · vehicle-supported
This is a trekking-led journey with private vehicle support between walking modules — not a vehicle-free through-walk across the full nine days. Private vehicle support connects Hanoi, Hoang Su Phi trailheads, Ha Giang town, Quan Ba, Dong Van, Ma Pi Leng / Meo Vac corridor access points, Du Gia and the return to Hanoi. Vehicle time is the operational bridge between distinct trekking systems — not a weakness in the product design.
Hoang Su Phi module (Days 1–4)
Owner-confirmed sequence: Tien Nguyen → Hong Son → Son Thanh → Nung Cu → Khoa Trung → Nam Hong with approximate km/time on Days 1–3. Day 4 is a partial walk and transfer to Ha Giang. Sunrise, cloud and terrace colour never guaranteed.
Ha Giang module (Days 5–8)
Significant walking around Nam Dam and Lung Khuy, then flexible guided sections on the Dong Van–Ma Pi Leng–Meo Vac corridor with private vehicle support between disconnected walking areas before continuing toward Du Gia. Day 8 uses guided village, waterfall and mountain walking around Du Gia adapted to weather, access, fitness and trail conditions.
Difficulty
Moderate to challenging overall. Strongest known days include approx. 18 km / 6 hours and 15 km / 6 hours in Hoang Su Phi. Ha Giang corridor days use variable walking sections rather than fixed continuous distances.
Guide model
Default: experienced English-speaking trekking guide. Local mountain / village specialist may support specific route sections when useful — confirmed in the written proposal.
Accommodation ladder
Hoang Su Phi (Days 1–3): basic homestay and/or locally operated bungalow. Day 4 & 8 Ha Giang: bungalow or hotel. Day 5 Nam Dam: homestay. Day 6 Dong Van: local hotel. Day 7 Du Gia: homestay. Exact property confirmed in proposal — not luxury, private bathroom or hot water everywhere.
Transport and luggage
Private vehicle support is part of the product design. Guests carry a small daypack while walking; main luggage moves by support vehicle where access allows. Porter service is not standard unless separately arranged.
Best season
September–October often suits harvest-interest periods in Hoang Su Phi; spring can bring greener landscapes depending on local timing. Ha Giang plateau weather varies — no golden-rice, harvest, sunrise, cloud or clear Ma Pi Leng view guarantees. Planning context: best time to visit Hoang Su Phi and Ha Giang beyond the loop.
