River vs Loop · choose one
Choose River Expedition if: you want Tra Su cajuput forest, Sam Mountain, Chau Doc frontier, Cham floating village, and more water-heavy days.
Choose Delta Loop if: you want Khmer pagoda backroads, Co Chien ferry, Con Chim islet, and a circular Ben Tre–Tra Vinh–Can Tho rhythm.
Both require early starts for floating markets — pre-dawn boat logic is identical on days that visit Cai Rang.

Day 2 — Pre-dawn Cai Rang floating market; rice noodle workshop; Can Tho.
Day 3 — 25 km bicycle day Phong Dien orchards; nipa palm sampan tunnel.
Day 4 — Tra Su cajuput forest boat; Sam Mountain sunset; Chau Doc frontier.
Day 5 — Cham floating village; Hau River drift; roadless homestay branch.
Day 6 — Sunrise farewell; return Saigon by mid-afternoon.
Decision impact: book River if Tra Su, Sam Mountain, and Chau Doc are must-sees — they are not on the Loop product itinerary.
Delta loop · day-by-day logic
Day 1 — Ben Tre coconut canals and homestay.
Day 2 — 25 km bicycle plus two public river ferries.
Day 3 — Co Chien ferry to Tra Vinh; Khmer pagoda groves; Hang Pagoda.
Day 4 — Long Hoa and Con Chim islet by boat and bicycle.
Day 5 — Transfer Can Tho; Phong Dien back-canals; early night before market.
Day 6 — Pre-dawn Cai Rang; return Saigon midday.
Decision impact: book Loop if Khmer pagoda country and public ferry rhythm matter more than Tra Su forest.

Missing market timing — Cai Rang requires pre-dawn departure; product copy states 5am as the only proper time.
Underestimating humidity and flat cycling — River product includes 25 km bicycle days; Loop includes 20–25 km days plus ferries.
Expecting hotel polish every night — homestays are part of both products; mosquito nets provided.
Insurance and visa excluded from base price — arrange travel and medical evacuation insurance before departure.
